EMM Labs CDSA - Integrated CD/SACD Player EMM Labs CDSA is an integrated CD/SACD player utilizing a series of inventive technical solutions that have never been implemented in a single box CD/SACD player until now. The CDSA is a true world class reference CD/SACD player. It offers unparalleled performance in its price range and way beyond. EMM Labs' unique proprietary MDAT signal processing technology, proprietary dual differential conversion circuitry and the latest cutting-edge disc drive mechanism is now available in one single box. No standard off-the-shelf chipsets, with all their weaknesses, will be found in any product from EMM Labs. The CDSA upsamples the 44.1 KHz CD signal to 5.6448 MHz, which is double the SACD standard sampling rate. The advanced MDAT technology makes your CDs sound astonishingly like SACDs. CD signals are upsampled to DSD prior to analog conversion, thereby preserving the phase and frequency characteristics of the signal. The CDSA will present every subtle dynamic structure of the music more accurately than you have ever heard it reproduced before. Laminated printcards made from an exclusive aerospace grade composite material overcome many limitations associated with less advanced printcard designs. The cabinet is machined from solid aluminum. The chassis is extensively treated with a polymer composite material, which efficiently reduces vibrations. The CDSA is equipped with a new German designed and manufactured ultra high-precision disc drive mechanism. New damping feet machined from aluminum also contributes to mechanical stability and rigidity. The EMM Labs CDSA CD/SACD Player is available in standard silver or black finish. For an additional fee this exclusive product is even available in glossy custom laquer in the color of your choice. REVIEWS EMM Labs CDSA SE - The Stereo Times, Nelson Brill, March, 2008: "The essence of the CDSA's sonic virtues, ones that set it apart from every other digital player I have heard to date, was its uncolored liquid presentation of the Sound offered on any CD or stereo SACD recording, mining the colors, textures and inner drama of any given recorded performance for all its worth. A word on the CDSA's performance on stereo SACD, versus CD. I can report that this is yet another area where Meitner and his team have surpassed expectations, dramatically closing the sonic gap between the two formats. The CDSA takes its place on the podium as my new digital player reference." EMM Labs CDSA SE - Dagogo, Ryan Coleman, November, 2007: "Indeed, over long-term listening, I found the EMM CDSA to be, without question, the most musically satisfying CD player I've ever come across. If you have a system that doesn't invite long listening sessions, or if you're completely off-put by digital playback, the EMM CDSA is the panacea for what afflicts you." EMM Labs CDSA SE vs. Wadia 861 SE and vs. Esoteric X0-1 D2 - Dagogo, Ryan Coleman, November, 2007: "The EMM Labs CDSA, light on brawn but heavy on brains, will be making its residence on my listening rack for the foreseeable future, as I bought the review sample. I know of no higher recommendation than parting with my hard-earned money. And if you have the resources at your disposal, you owe it to yourself to audition this unit. Digital never had it so good." EMM Labs CDSA SE - The Absolute Sound/Issue 125, Anthony Cordesman, August, 2007 - Golden Ear Award , "...A Superb CD and SACD player, ...it offers subtle musically natural detail, the best imaging and soundstage I've heard other than from digital masters, and excellent overall timbre without digital hardness in the upper octaves or artificial softening of the sound." EMM Labs CDSA SE - The Absolute Sound, Issue 125, Harry Pearson - Golden Ear Award: "Quite simply, the best two-channel CD (and two-channel SACD) playback device of the many, many we've tested in Sea Cliff over the past year. ...you can listen with pleasure, and for hours and hours." EMM Labs CDSA SE - Superior Audio/EnjoyTheMusic.com, Phil Gold, April, 2007: "The CDSA SE has to be in very front rank of CD Players regardless of cost. It will do wonders for detail retrieval, imaging and accuracy complete with a fully realized bottom end and open top on the best Redbook recordings. Its failings are those of the medium itself. As to SACD, this is as good as digital gets, and far better than any Redbook CD you will ever hear. Not a mass market product, but clearly an exceptional achievement and a challenge to vinyl lovers everywhere. Meet my new reference digital source." EMM Labs CDSA SE - Positive Feedback/Issue 31, Dave Clark, 2007: "Highly, HIGHLY highly, highly recommended. The EMM CDSA SE is a killer machine with little, if anything—like nadda, zilch—to deter the music lover from being happy! ." EMM Labs CDSA SE Positive Feedback/Issue 30, Rick Gardner, March, 2007: "... it doesn't take a genius to figure out this should soon be the hot ticket. And it doesn't matter if you don't have even one SACD. At this point in time, on planet Earth, digital music reproduction just doesn't get any better than the CDSA SE." EMM Labs CDSD Transport - The Absolute Sound/Issue 152, Harry Pearson, March 2005: "You simply don't get this kind of improvement in part of the component chain of anything in audio in more than once ni a decade or so. Now that day has arrived."
