A UNIQUE BLEND OF REFINEMENT AND DYNAMIC IMPACT
Through the last 15 years the large MONTANA models have attained a reputation among music lovers and reviewers as world-class loudspeakers. Still, PBN Audio's R&D Department always pushes boundaries in the never-ending search for musical realism. As a result, the company introduced its all-new flagship loudspeaker model in the MONTANA line-up at the CES 2007, T.H.E. Show, in Las Vegas. Hence the name, the MONTANA Master Reference.
The MONTANA Master Reference stands 2,13 meters tall and weighs a formidable 500 kilos a pair. The gigantic, heavily braced ceiled 500 litre cabinet and the specially designed high-performance drivers from SEAS and McCauley hints about a truly exceptional combination of sophistication and dynamic capabilities.
Each cabinet features two ea. custom spec 18" McCauley woofers, two ea. 10" mid-bass drivers, two ea. 5,25" mid-range drivers and a highly efficient soft dome wide dispersion tweeter. Except from the two ea. custom modified 18" McCauley woofers per cabinet, all drivers are custom made or modified by SEAS of Norway for PBN Audio only.
The active section includes specially designed PBN OLYMPIA power amplifiers, as well as a PBN OLYMPIA Bass Extension Equalizer. This system pulls extra current when required during extreme bass-heavy passages, which ensures the highest attainable bass definition, control, extension and sonic balance.
The MONTANA Master Reference has a flat frequency response from 15 Hz - 30.000 Hz. Despite of the MONTANA Master Reference's ceiled cabinet, the efficiency is 94 dB (2,83 V / 1 m).
